Description
What are Drama Club Classes at Upstage Theatre Schools?
Over the past few years, we’ve recognized a growing need for deeper connection within our Upstage family. Our students share a strong love of performance and theatre, and many are building friendships with peers from surrounding schools. We realized that one 2-hour program each week doesn’t always feel like enough time for students to connect over something they’re so passionate about.
Enter: Drama Club! This year, we’re excited to introduce our brand-new Drama Club Classes at The Pico—designed for young performers looking for more Upstage. This class will likely divide into two age groups based on enrollment and will focus on the foundational building blocks of acting through scene study and performance technique. Students will develop their skills through partner and group scenes, character development exercises, monologue work, and other acting-focused activities designed to strengthen confidence and stage presence. Improvisation will also be incorporated through games and interactive exercises that encourage creativity, collaboration, and quick thinking. This is a true acting and drama skills class focusing on performance technique and storytelling. It has no musical theatre component.
Acting, Scene Study & Improvisation (1-hour class with assigned age group + 1-hour homework club)
