Description
What are Drama Club Classes at Upstage Theatre Schools?
Over the past few years, we’ve recognized a growing need for deeper connection within our Upstage family. Our students share a strong love of performance and theatre, and many are building friendships with peers from surrounding schools. We realized that one 2-hour program each week doesn’t always feel like enough time for students to connect over something they’re so passionate about.
Enter: Drama Club! This year, we’re excited to introduce our brand-new Drama Club Classes at The Pico—designed for young performers looking for more Upstage.
Group Voice Class (Vocal Technique & Musical Theatre Ensemble, Harmonizing, Solo Opportunities) (1-hour class with assigned age group + 1-hour homework club) This class will likely divide into two age groups based on enrollment and will focus on developing ensemble singing skills in a fun and supportive group setting, incorporating solo opportunities throughout the session. Structured like a group voice lesson, students will participate in vocal warm-ups, learn music together, and build foundational vocal techniques such as harmonizing, diction, breath support, pitch matching, and basic music reading skills. The class is designed to strengthen vocal confidence, musicianship, and collaborative performance skills while creating an engaging and encouraging environment for singers of all experience levels.
How It Works:
- Enroll in at least one Drama Club class at The Pico to automatically become a Drama Club member
- Enroll in all three classes and receive 20% off your season’s Community Program registration
- Gain exclusive access to monthly 2-hour Drama Club workshops (4 in the fall season, 9 total throughout the year if you re-join in the spring) (Non-members may attend at a higher rate if space allows)
