Description

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical.  It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.  Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. This is a shorter version of the current Broadway Musical, which will allow the teachers to work with performers on their acting, singing and dance skills culminating in a public performance. Casting will be fair and as much as possible “ensemble” — every child, younger and older, will feel they’re making an important contribution to the success of the show. The final production will be fully realized with sets, costumes, lights and the roar of a supportive crowd.
