Description

We are once again offering a ten session musical theatre dance and tap class for all students registered for our 2019 Summer Camps. Theatre dance class for beginners and more advanced dancers, featuring choreography from Hamilton, Matilda, Anything Goes, A Chorus Line, Beauty & The Beast, In The Heights, and Madagascar. This is NOT a mandatory class.

We ran the same program last year for Shrek and Mary Poppins, and two years ago for Thoroughly Modern Millie and the results were impressive.

This class will again be taught by our lead choreographer for summer — Michael McClure.

Mike McClure

Director & Choreographer

Mike McClure was a musical theater major at the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music (CCM) and has performed, directed, choreographed and taught in New York, Los Angeles and many places in between.

Favorite roles as a performer are Don Lockwood in Singin’ in the Rain, BJ Gibson in The 1940’s Radio Hour & Orin, the Dentist, in Little Shop of Horrors. Favorite shows as a director/choreographer are Hairspray, West Side Story, Music Man and Romeo & Juliet, the Rock Musical.

He choreographed the national tours of Gypsy & The Sound of Music as well as regional productions of Cats and Hair.

He has taught jazz, musical theater dance, acting and filmmaking in various locations over the past 20 years and has gotten to share the stage with musical theater legends like Gene Kelly, Tommy Tune, Joel Grey, George Hearn and Sandy Duncan.
