Singing Class (4th-8th or previous singing experience if younger) Wednesdays 5pm-6pm Your child will be instructed on proper singing technique; pitch, control, rhythm, connecting, breath control, pushing the air, phrasing, etc. all aspects of a healthy singing voice. Digging into acting the song, and telling a story through music. Building the confidence to sing solos in front of a group.
Building Blocks of Public Speaking (1st-5th) Thursdays 4pm-5pm With an eye toward your child’s confidence we will instruct them on control of eye-line, tone, and voice projection using fun monologues and scenes from familiar shows and books. These skills will improve their ability to talk in front of a group of people and feel more at ease with presentations.
Audition/Scene Study Class (6th-8th) Thursdays 5pm-6pm Instruction will be geared toward advancing your child’s acting skills. Training will be on acting and working with a scene partner, memorizing techniques, do’s and don’ts of auditions, how to tell a story through a monologue, the first 30 seconds in an audition room, how to self-tape, and discovering the personal acting process.
Making-a-Movie (Beginner) Fridays 4pm-5pm This class is for any student new to our movie classes. Learn how to create your own movie, from writing it, to filming it, to editing it, and premiering your final work! The students will learn about all of the different filming styles, and hone in on what they love; vlogs, documentaries, comedies, animation, and more! We learn about special effects, voiceover, on camera acting, and more!
What is included in each class?
- 1 teacher minimum and 1 host available for the entire hour
- Learning Materials (How-to videos, musical tracks, sheet music, worksheets, etc…)
- A secure password protected Zoom link that will be used each week, and re-sent 1 hr before each class for easy access
- Low pressure assignments to be given outside of class to keep kids engaged away from the screen
